Mr. Alcorn graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 1969, having served as Editor-in-Chief of the Houston Law Review. Upon graduation, Mr. Alcorn began practice with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in New York and Washington. He was a partner in the firm from 1978 until his retirement in 2000. Among his many other endeavors, he served as General Counsel of the National Commission for the Review of Antitrust Laws and Procedures in the Carter administration. He also taught in the Hofstra University School of Law and the Adelphi University Business Graduate School. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of San Francisco School of Law. Mr. Alcorn currently serves as Director, Vice-Chair and Treasurer of Professional Examination Service, NY; General Counsel, Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association, DC; and as member of the Past Presidents Council of The Governor's Land Foundation, VA.
Before beginning the practice of law, Mr. Alcorn served as a law enforcement officer. His law enforcement experience includes criminal investigation, forensic science and personnel and premises security. He continues to have an active interest in these areas.
